The Management Academy

Traditionally, nurses and allied health professionals get training in clinical skills, not management skills. When it comes time to promote people in clinical roles to management, they may not be ready for the challenges that go along with managing people. Without adequate preparation, some people simply cannot make the transition from clinician to management.

TheManagementAcademy is the answer. This formal, yearlong program is designed to help develop their hospital employees into confident, capable managers and leaders following a curriculum that addresses the opportunities and challenges unique to South Carolina.

TheManagementAcademy includes five two-and-a-half day sessions. Each session is led by “best in class” national and state management experts who are handpicked to provide participants with a greater understanding of the skills necessary to be effective managers in today’s demanding healthcare environment. Each session will be held in a convenient, in-state location to maximize attendance and minimize travel costs.
